Paying for Professional Financial Advice

Financial Review and Recommendation
This can be a continuation from the initial discussion, where agreed, or a further appointment. This process covers the:

• gathering of information about your existing financial arrangements and full personal circumstances;

• understanding of your investment knowledge and attitude and tolerance towards investment risk;

• recommendation of an asset allocation model that matches your risk profile and the subsequent assessment and suitability of any existing holdings;

• preparation of our recommendations to you;

• arranging a second appointment to explain and discuss our recommendations in detail.

Our charges for this service have minimum fees as stated below and is payable on provision of the report containing our recommendations to you. This fee will be waived wholly or in part should you decide to implement any of our recommendations.

To assist us with the delivery of our Investment Services we use a system called Dynamic Planner by Distribution Technology. Distribution Technology is the UK's leading provider of financial planning and sales technology and has an excellent reputation for market-leading advice technology. Distribution Technology has appeared in the annual Tech Track Top 100 ratings in September 2009. Their tool allows us to analyse our clients' attitude to risk using a range of psychometric questionnaires, and providing clients with a view of the consequences

Policy Arrangement & Implementation – Lump Sum Investments or Transfers

Should you instruct us to proceed with any of our recommendations we will act for you in the following ways:

  • Handle all fund and policy administration on your behalf;
  • Provide regular updates to keep you informed of progress;
  • Ensure all your documents are issued in line with your expectations;
  • Provide confirmation of all actions taken on your behalf in writing.

Our charges for this service is based on 3% of the amount you invest and/or transfer. These charges are applied as follows:

  • 3% on the first £50,000, followed by
  • 2% between £50,001 to £100,000, followed by
  • 1% on £100,001 and above

Payment can either be taken from your investment upon receipt by the policy provider or paid directly by you. Where we receive such a payment we will waive our ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee by the same amount.

If our recommendation is to retain your existing policy/ies or you decide to not take our recommendation the minimum fee will be payable as detailed above.

Payments are due on acceptance of our recommendation and/or set up of a new contract.

Pensions/Annuities/Drawdown & Defined Benefits

Example 1; if we review/arrange an investment on your behalf for £10,000 and we recommend a new policy our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £300. As this is less than the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee of £785 we would charge you an additional £485 as the balance. The total fee payable would be £785.

Example 2; if we review/arrange an investment on your behalf totalling £100,000 and we recommend a new policy our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee would be £3,000. As this exceeds the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee no other charges would be applied. The total fee payable would be £3,000.

Example 3; if we review/arrange investments on your behalf totalling £300,000 and we recommend a new policy our Policy Arrangement & Implementation fee should be £9,000. As this exceeds the ‘financial review and recommendation’ fee and we recommend a new policy the total fee payable would be the maximum of £8,000.

Example ongoing fees

Example 1: if your investments are valued at £50,000

N/A A charge of £250 would be below our minimum fee and we would charge the difference of £250 to you at the end of annual period from when this agreement was dated. Example 2: if your investments are valued at £850,000 N/A The charge would be £4,250. As this exceeds our charge cap we would reduce the fee in line with our maximum charge so the total payable would be £4,000 per annum. The charge would be £8,500. As this exceeds our charge cap we would reduce the fee in line with our maximum charge so the total payable would be £8,000 per annum.

Where the value of your investments rises, then the fees for this service will increase, conversely, if the value of your investments falls, the cost of this service will decrease. This is subject to the above minimum and maximum charges.

Tailored Financial Planning has chosen to support the ‘Have a Heart’ Foundation. Activities have included raising money towards a new Cardiac Diagnostic Machine for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and organising a golf day.

Tailored Financial Planning is also interested in supporting a local community group and currently provides sponsorship for Thatto Heath Crusaders who have teams between the ages of 7 and adult men and women.
